Basic Black (1967)

My good friend Audrey Moorehead hipped me to the fact that this short film is finally making the rounds on the 'Tube. Shot by famed photographer, William Claxton, it is utterly groundbreaking in so many ways. And although it leans more towards the "Swinging 60s" than my tastes usually run, there is an undeniable joy in the imagery that is infectious. Read here for a little more background from Clax himself on the piece.

Aww, I remember Audrey. My fondest memory was when she was DJing at the Cavern Club. Me and my fellow "drunk brother" were hanging out in her DJ booth, when she popped open a bottle of champagne, accidentlly blasting all of her old scratchy 45s! Nice clip!
